The Sioux Center Community Hospital & Health Center Avera was founded in 1951 on gospel values. The community members who gathered their energies and resources lived their faith as they created an organization rooted in faith-based values. While some health organizations may be directed to improve the human condition, as a health ministry, our calling is even greater. We provide health care in service to others as an extension of the healing work of Jesus.
It is because of our Christian foundation that we seek to provide the best health care services available for the sick and the poor. Charity care and community benefits are fundamental aspects of our organization’s mission. Providing the newest technologies and most advanced medical treatments keep our organization on the cutting edge in health care.
It is our goal to provide our communities with a knowledgeable and welcoming medical home – a health care community that believes in providing care for the whole person, throughout their entire lifetime. Our care spans from acute care to chronic and preventive care. It includes childcare, as well as care for seniors in independent, assisted, nursing, and home care. In addition to our team of family practice physicians and medical providers, we also have several specialty physicians practicing in our organization. With so many specialty clinics available right here, we are sure you will find the services you are looking for.
Our relationship with Avera, also a health ministry, is strengthened by simiar values and focus. Because of our strategic partnership with Avera, our ability to serve our patients with all of their health care needs is greatly enhanced. This partnership gives our patients access to unique services such as eICU technology.
